The bids shall include all Work pursuant to the Drawings and Project Manual, and Addenda as may be issued prior to bid opening date.
Scope of Work: The work includes demolition of existing CAL FIRE Forest Fire Station, barracks building and apparatus building (including asbestos and lead paint removal). Construction of a new forest fire station including barracks, apparatus and pump house/ generator buildings, a spring fed water storage tank, septic system type sewage disposal system including mass grading, paving, landscaping improvements and related work. The location is an ancient Native American acorn grinding site and will be monitored during construction for any native American artifacts.
License: Contractors’ State License Classification required to bid Project: B.
Refer to Document 00 22 00, Supplementary Instructions to Bidders, Subparagraph 2.1.3, regarding performance of work of a Fire Protection specialty contractor license classification C-16.
Availability Of Funds: Award of this contract is subject to the availability of funds through the State’s normal budget process and/or transfer of funds to the Department of General Services through the Architecture Revolving Fund.
Pre-bid Site Inspection: Bids will only be accepted from those Contractors having attended the MANDATORY pre-bid site inspection tour on August 29, 2018, at 9:30 A.M., at which time representatives of the State and prospective bidders shall meet at existing Fire Station near 50601 Highway 245, Miramonte, CA 93641. The State’s requirements for Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation and other Contract requirements will be presented. Prime Contractors are encouraged to have their Key Administrator and DVBE office coordinator attend to receive this information and to have their questions answered. Attendance for the entire inspection is required in order for bidders to be eligible to submit a bid. A second MANDATORY pre-bid inspection tour is scheduled for Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at 50601 Highway 245, Miramonte, Tulare County, CA 93641. Contractors who attended the first August 29, 2018 pre-bid site inspection tour are not required to attend.
