Major components of Project Work consist of two (2) Phases:

Phase 1 Removal and replacement of Chiller Number Two and one associated cooling tower (either Tower One or Tower Two).

Phase 2: Removal and replacement of Chiller Number One and one associate cooling tower (either Tower One or Tower Two).

The cooling system consists of three (3) roof mounted cooling towers. During their removal and replacement, chiller cooling shall be kept fully operational for the duration of both phases including but not limited to the area serving the Computer Room. Contractor shall phase Cooling Tower Three removal, replacement and bypass piping installations such that the Computer Room cooling system remains fully operational at all times. Cooling Tower Three work, along with the other project work such as speed drive installation, electrical power, and controls shall be completed as part of Phase One, Phase Two or both in such a manner to keep all systems fully operational at all times.

The roof area associated with the cooling towers shall be resurfaced prior to the installation of the new cooling towers.

Successful bidder shall furnish payment and performance bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price.

Prospective bidders must attend the mandatory pre bid site inspection tour on March 7, 2018, at 505 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, CA. Inspection tour will begin at 11:00 A.M. The State’s requirements for Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation will be presented along with other contract requirements. Bidders are required to be in attendance for the entirety of the pre-bid site inspection and sign out at the conclusion.
